As an Outlaw, you will find yourself as someone who’s naturally gifted to criticize. Your aim is to force people to humble themselves and question the very truths they take for granted, turning them into better human beings with both your wits and actions.
Furthermore, you also possess a great sense of self. Above all else, you know your purpose in life, and the strength of your beliefs is magnified by your natural intelligence and a desire to bring the mainstream to its heels.
Thus, you often have great ambitions and high goals for the people around you. You don’t just want a world of obeyers, but of questioners– people who sincerely measure themselves to high standards in order to improve the world. You’re an improver of other people, and you do so in your own unique way.
You are:
As an extrovert, you exude positive energy. You confidently carry that contagious power to do things. You are never afraid of your flaws, for you understand that it is part of who you are. Instead, you take pride in your battle scars, constantly signifying your challenges and the accolades that come with it.
More importantly, you are also thrill-seeking and daring. This means that you’re determined to constantly try new things out. Finally, being gregarious necessitates being with others. As an extrovert, you thrive in expressing yourself to those around you, as their attention gives validation to your own identity.
Things to pay attention to:
Being an extrovert, you are prone to the possible weaknesses mentioned above. For one, you have the tendency to be self-centered. Since you seek your own happiness above all else, those around you can sometimes become a tool instead of a companion.
The same also holds true as you search for self-validation. Relying on people’s praises and appreciation may bite your back, as they can also subtly shape who you are. Left unchecked, these traits may lead you farther from knowing yourself, as you unknowingly allow others to shape your reality.
You are:
Most people are quick to crucify the egoist. In fact, you’ve probably been perceived as someone who looks only after yourself and your possessions. When helping others, you often do so knowing that you will benefit in some way, and people sometimes can’t help but think you’re only using them for your own advancement. In a way, you are perceived as entirely Machiavellian.
But this is a folly. Self-interested as you are, selfishness isn’t exactly a bad thing. After all, it represents the part of our instinct that tells us to look after ourselves, and in this regard, you are a pro. Because of your fundamental desire to survive, you are cunning, decisive, and always precise about what you do. You are, therefore, extremely reliable.
Things to pay attention to:
Predictably, the egoist’s true enemy is his own friend: yourself. The irony of this is magnified in part because you are supposed to know yourself completely. Even with your immense self-knowledge, however, you can still fall prey to your worst impulses, manifested in your occasional bouts of arrogance.
If you aren’t able to control the worst of your own impulses, you may end up feeling extremely lonely. This is because none of these traits can make people approach you sincerely; every last bit of these only turns people away. As such, you should try your hardest to be empathetic and understand other people’s perspectives.
You are:
Rational people are sometimes seen as cold and calculating. Indeed, you can give this impression yourself because of how often you use your mind more than your heart. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. You are acutely aware that the world is an unpredictable place and that one needs to make sense of it to make things work for themselves and everyone else.
For this reason, you prefer the use of reason before reckless impulse. To you, there is a right place and time for unleashing one’s true feelings. In the meantime, problems should be solved first in order to facilitate the perfect outcome. This capacity for patience and wisdom makes you a valuable ally to anyone who seeks your help.
Things to pay attention to:
Rational people often live inside their own heads. As such while you can pull off a lot of good things and actually help others find their way with your natural grasp of logic and reason, it can also pave the way for elitism. After all, intellect is one of humanity’s most sought-after talents. Sure, you can lift your muscle and impress people, but you can destroy lives with just your own mind.
Such is the overwhelming power of the spirit that it can sometimes overtake you and make you completely unbendable in the face of critique. You may think yourself too superior to be subjected to criticism, or even criticize and be sarcastic to people who are just asserting themselves. As such, you people need to keep your pride in check to prevent stagnation and conflict.
You are:
Turbulence is often perceived negatively. After all, this relates to the idea of one’s emotional instability. However, turbulence isn’t always as bad as people put it to be. Instead, this basic quality empowers a different kind of drive – one that digs deeper towards oneself.
In general, people are turbulent primarily because they’ve established a strong connection with their emotions. Because of this, they become emotional. In a positive way, this allows them to relate with others well, as turbulent individuals can get a better grasp of how things are going.
Things to pay attention to:
Problems often arise as a result of your unstable emotions. For one, dealing with others can be problematic as the slightest irritation can result in unprecedented conflict. Unable to manage your reactions well, you can become feisty or even aggressive towards them.
Clouding your judgment, turbulence can lead you to become indecisive. If not, bottling in your emotional dissonance can lead to an endless swirl of internal problems. Manifesting in forms of anxiety and/or depression, your inability to regulate how you feel can accumulate negative feelings deep within.
As an Outlaw, you are naturally daring. Thrill runs in your veins and you will do everything you can to satisfy it. For you, thrill is the truest form of personal freedom and the gateway to improvement. Anything less than excitement leads to stagnation and decay.
This natural propensity to seek what people haven’t tried yet allows you to constantly think outside the limits of other archetypes. You are, therefore, the person everyone turns to for fun, novelty, and having creative solutions for difficult problems. That being said, this may only come after settling some misunderstanding others might have about your true nature.
By definition, an Outlaw has to be decisive. After all, how are you going to be able to break the rules if you are constantly giving in to hesitation? You are aware that life has an element of luck and destiny to it, and that sometimes, exploiting them means letting go of your personal limiters.
Not only are you decisive, but you also tend to take risky choices from time to time. In fact, you may sometimes do so simply because you want to deal with the hesitation you’re already feeling deep down. This naturally means that there is a side of you that’s whimsical and willing to explore.
As expected of any Outlaw, you are always focused on criticizing things. Sometimes, you have a habit of simply taking the other side in arguments simply because you want to challenge the limits of the other position. As a result of your persistent and rather aggressive way of looking for the truth, you often see things most people miss.
Similarly, you also have a habit of improving yourself in unique and inventive ways. When you’re facing a gap in your skillset, for example, you tend to fill it with even better alternatives. This results in you being able to compete with others despite having far less experience or seniority than them.
Another crucial trait of the Outlaw that stems from their turbulence and rationality is their depth. For you, you refuse to only think of things on the surface level. If you have a strategy, you will think not only about the individual methods you use to implement such strategies but even the theory and ethics of said strategies.
Not only that, but you also have a deep grasp of who you really are as a human being. You are full of purpose that only you can explain to yourself, which means you end up hesitating a lot less. This self-wisdom attracts people to your side as they are eager to learn how you managed to get to such a stage in your life.
Since Outlaws are naturally thrill-seeking, they hate staying in one place and will often express their displeasure by becoming even more belligerent. You hate the idea of stagnation and will try to openly fight it by doing peculiar things like running in place or becoming too fidgety. You will also try and find hobbies in your own predicament if you feel constricted in any way.
This weakness only gets worse when you are around authority figures and are openly aware you are being constricted by them. Since you often like the freedom that movement and novelty provides you, any attempt at limiting your movements will only breed resentment on your part. You hate being subjected to things like discipline and obedience, and will only appreciate and obey things if it is within your will.
Outlaws are natural individualists. As such, selfishness runs in their veins. You have a tendency to see anything that comes from the outside as an imposition on you and your free will as a human being, and as such, you refuse to subject yourself to anything that is contrary to what you feel deep down. Any notion of helping others– and in the process constricting yourself– immediately flies off the window.
As such, you are urged to at least curb your individualism and selfishness, especially when it matters. For example, if you are made to choose between friends or coworkers and yourself, at least try to think hard about the implications of throwing them under the bus and what it might say about you as a human being. Though your selfishness is understandable, it is difficult to deny that this whole world isn’t just yours– it’s shared by you and everyone else.
Outlaws are naturally certain of themselves and their choices. As such, they may get a little cocky about the depth of their understanding and become unnecessarily arrogant. This can affect them in two particular ways. First, this arrogance can prevent them from seeing faults in their own plans, which often leads to them slowly backfiring in their faces.
This can lead to catastrophic results in life. For example, you may like someone, but because of how sure you are of yourself, you may not realize that they don’t like you back until it’s too late. Additionally, this arrogance can also alienate friends and family alike. They may become afraid to air their opinions of you for fear of how you’ll react, resulting in limited interaction.
Ironically enough, the depth of your own thoughts might sometimes lead you to the abyss. This is because thinking too much about your own position in life– or about what life is can lead you to a feeling of existential crisis. This can result in your questioning your own purpose in life or whether you are really living for something great or beautiful.
Immersing yourself in these kinds of thoughts might slowly muddle your view of reality. From a beautiful world, you may see only darkness and decay, and while the outside world celebrates for being given the gift of life and joy, you may instead curse it for pushing you further into darkness.
Due to your rational nature, you tend to be very understanding of other people. Whereas other archetypes tend to be impatient and aggressive, you are inclined to reason and understanding.
When you are in a relationship, this tendency will bring reassurance. As such, likely won’t focus too much on a person’s faults in a relationship. You won’t try to collect grievances to get back at them at a later time, but will instead keep the relationship steady.
Looking at the core qualities of your archetype, we’ll see an Outlaw whose self-pride can definitely get in the way of a harmonious relationship. On the one hand, you are assertive enough to make sure you aren’t dominated, but this could mean a less harmonious relationship.
This trait often manifests in your likelihood to gain criticism for your own actions. The one thing you always manifest is a desire to make your will known, and to that end, you aren’t as scared of having an equal who might have opposing views to your own. They may, however, see you as somewhat of a liability due to your own boundless egotism.
One key trait of your archetype is your tendency to be assertive with your own opinions. No matter what the situation is, you will always have something to say about everything around you– and you will make your opinions known, one way or another, and anyone who gets in your way will certainly not come out looking good.
The initial reaction your friends (or acquaintances) may have is genuine surprise, to the point of being actively overwhelmed, given that you are able to talk for an entire day about even one specific opinion on a certain matter. As a result, you end up often dominating conversations.
As friends, Outlaws can be generally harsh in their criticism. You have a high disregard for norms, so you naturally have no time for nonsense or pretense. You will not observe “the right way” of telling others your views, nor will you apologize to them by any conventional means.
This tendency to be rather volatile and upfront with your criticism is caused by your own turbulent nature. You are generally driven by your emotions at the moment, and as such, you will often base the harshness of your criticism on your temper at that point in time.
For example, you may be harsher to your friends if you are having a really bad day at work than you would be if you were on a good day. During this time, it may be difficult to approach you, and they may feel like you are going to explode on them if they do anything you might perceive or see as wrong.
In the workplace, Outlaws love to work with others. Naturally inclined to find innovative solutions, Outlaws will engage and discuss with others to improve the team. As an Outlaw, you are likely to exhibit this habit and will be willing to even guide team members towards achieving the tasks.
Outlaws are often mistaken as loners– people who just want to assert themselves, but this is actually false, especially in the workplace. They are extremely ambitious, but will often bend to the will of the team if they are unable to change their minds. They will, however, fight tooth and nail for their opinions.
Outlaws are ambitious people who will often find jobs that speak to their own personal desires. For example, Outlaws that seek to question everything can be academics and thinkers, while those who seek to express themselves through art can become artists, dancers, or singers. They are naturally inclined to follow the calling they have so decreed in their lives.
Due to their own selfishness, however, they may be driven in jobs that have far fewer people in them than required to have a healthy social life. What this means is that while their individual abilities will certainly thrive, the fact that their desires are often so divergent from others means that they will likely land jobs with fewer people in them. You won’t be working with tens of people, but with 5 or even 3 at a time.
Outlaws are naturally rational people and love to argue. Consequently, they often like people who can dish out and take whatever they have to offer in an argument. They are often at their most potent with teamed with archetypes of roughly the same argumentative vigor like the Hero and Ruler
As such, when debating about something in the workplace, you will often probe your opponents and test their critical thinking skills. You will ask them to trick questions or examine their arguments to such a precise degree that you can make point-by-point refutations later on.
Much like their own desire to assert themselves, Outlaws also work best when they are given freedom over their time. This is because each Outlaw functions differently to help address their specific needs. Some Outlaws are overly productive during the day, while others tend to be at their best during nighttime. They may also require working less or more time depending on their disposition.
However, there may be times when you aren’t able to control your schedule at all, such as during meetings or depending on the company you’re working for. Should you be unable to get your desired time, what should you do then?
